Events Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions apply to all public and ticketed events, workshops, and training programmes held at St Ethelburga’s Centre or online, as well as to visitors of the Centre. By registering for or attending an event, you agree to the following:

1. Bookings and Payments

Bookings must be made through our website or designated booking platforms.
Full payment is required upon registration unless otherwise specified.
Concessionary rates and bursaries may be available; please check the event listing.

2. Cancellations and Refunds

You may usually cancel up to 7 days before the event to receive a full refund, unless otherwise specified on the event page.

Cancellations made within 7 days of the event are non-refundable.

St Ethelburga’s reserves the right to cancel or reschedule any event. In such cases, you will be offered either a full refund or a transfer to a future session.

3. Attendance and Participation

Please arrive on time. Late arrivals may not be admitted, depending on the nature of the event.

For some events, participation requirements or preparatory work may apply. These will be clearly communicated in advance.

4. Respect and Conduct

At the heart of our work is a commitment to fostering a culture of respect, compassion, and mutual learning. We have a zero-tolerance policy for abusive or aggressive behaviour that undermines the safety of our staff or other participants. This includes but is not limited to: Abusive or threatening language Disruptive or unsafe conduct Discrimination or harassment based on sex, race, gender, sexuality, religion, ability, or any other protected characteristic Any such behaviour will result in immediate removal from the event and permanent exclusion from St Ethelburga’s programmes, and from the building and garden.  

5. Admission and Right of Refusal
St Ethelburga’s Centre for Reconciliation and Peace reserves the right to refuse admission to any individual, or to ask any participant to leave an event or the premises, at our sole discretion.This right may be exercised if:A participant’s behaviour compromises the safety, wellbeing, or experience of others;

Their actions violate our code of conduct (see Section 4);

They are under the influence of drugs or alcohol;

Or for any other reason that, in our judgment, is inconsistent with the values and purpose of the event.

Such decisions are final.

6. Accessibility

We are committed to ensuring that our events are accessible. Please contact us in advance if you have any specific requirements, and we will do our best to accommodate you.

7. Photography and Recordings

Events may be photographed, filmed, or recorded for promotional and archival purposes. You will be notified beforehand and may opt out by informing a member of the team upon arrival.

8. Data Protection

We take your privacy seriously. Your information will only be used to manage your booking and communicate relevant updates. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for more information.

9. Liability

Participation in our events is at your own risk. While we take every care to ensure a safe environment, St Ethelburga’s cannot accept liability for personal loss, injury, or damage, except where caused by our proven negligence.
