The last few months have seen changes at St Ethelburga's. We have had to rethink how to sustain St Ethelburga's into the future and one result is that we are now looking for a new Centre Administrator
Last autumn the Trustees and staff, supported by Interim Director Paul Wilson, looked carefully at options to achievelong-term sustainability in a difficult climate for small charities. We decided on a threefold strategy:
a) to refocus our work on a smaller number of practical goals
b) to scale down spending to a level which can reliably sustained
c) to invest in new approaches to income generation, in particular a partnership with a commercial events management company who will be marketing the spare capacity in our wonderful building
"Scaling down" has meant the painful business of people leaving. Saying farewell to Helen and Candia, and now Angela is tough for everyone, made bearable by each going on to something new. Yet adversity has its uses. We have a renewed sense of purpose and some strong ideas about new projects and services and fresh ways of delivering them (watch this space...). And already new money is starting to come in.
If you are someone with good administrative skills and experience who'd enjoy supporting Justine and me as we take St Ethelburga's into its next phase, we'd love to hear from you.
