A four-week course for anyone leading or participating in mixed faith groups.  It offers experiential exercises, dialogue, teaching and reflection to support productive conversations.  Many of the principles will also apply to working with diverse groups in general.  With Justine HuxleyAll at 6.30pm

Inclusivity & participation

Thurs 15 May

Exploring the first steps involved in bringing people together to build bridges.  Includes:  beginning with the right intention; how to maximise involvement and create truly inclusive space; exploring power iand consensus; basics of interfaith etiquette. 


Meeting & dialogue tools

Thurs 22 May

A whistle-stop tour of simple dialogue models and meeting formats that can support lively and creative conversations within diverse groups (including world café, philosophy for communities, appreciative inquiry and others).


The essence of dialogue

Thurs 5 June

What is the difference between dialogue, debate and conversation?  Using William Isaac’s model of dialogue as ‘thinking together’, we explore the four elements of listening, respecting, voicing, and suspending judgement.

Thurs 12 June

Pointers on how to create a safe container for difficult conversations, maintaining a ‘non-anxious presence’ when disagreements arise, understanding our own responses to tension, and how and when to intervene skilfully if things get heated
