faith is a source of conflict... and a resource for transforming conflict

rediscovering nonviolence

Nonviolence is the gretest force humankind has been endowed with.
Mahatma Gandhi

That's all nonviolence is - organised love.
Joan Baez

Understanding the nature and limits of nonviolence is central to peacebuilding. We look to deepen our understanding of nonviolence by examining it as an option in the context of contemporary conflicts and encouraging people to reflect on violence and nonviolence in their own lives.

We are also developing a Refusing Violence project with and for young people. This will focus on what the wisdom of the world's great spiritual traditions has to say about how we should respond to violence and how this is relevant in contmporary society and youth culture.
