Civic Training for Faith Leaders

Do you have a leadership role in a religious group or community? Have you arrived in Britain in the last three years?

If so we can help you explore some of the challenges you and your community might be facing. We offer you a unique chance to do this with people in simlar positions from other faith communites.

Come and join a multi-faith group of leaders from different faith communties for a three-day programme of presentations, discussions and visits. There are 20 places availalble and since it's funded by the Home Office and EU it's free to partcipants.

High quality traning for free

St Ethelburga’s are offering a unique opportunity to spend three days as part of a group of 20 people in roles like your own in different faith communities. Through a programme of presentations, meetings with experts, shared discussion and visits you will explore some of issues facing religious communities in contemporary Britain.

The training, which is free of charge and runs from Monday 3rd November – Wednesday 5th November, will cover:

  • An Introduction to the British legal system, police and courts
  • Rights and responsibilities in the welfare state
  • How to get the best out of the health, education and employment systems
  • The role of religion in multi-faith, secular Britain
  • Working with the media
